Model Answers:

How are you?

I’m fine, thank you

I’m good, thank you.

Can I see your ID please?

Sure, here you are.

Of course, here you go.

Do you come from a big or small family?

Actually, I come from a village, but then my family moved to the capital of my country, which is Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.

Can you tell me about your city or town?

It would be my pleasure to tell you about my hometown. Well, actually I’d like to talk about my city, which is Riyadh. I’m from a village, but there is not much to describe about the village, as it’s very small. There are just some animals and houses. In my city, Riyadh there are many skyscrapers, tall buildings, hospitals, schools and things to do. You can eat in many different restaurants and go shopping. There are also parks, but there is no beach. If you want to visit the beach – you can visit Jeddah.

How long have you been learning English for?

I’ve been learning English, since I was three years old. I’ve had a teacher come to home to teach me English since three years old. I also went to a very good university in Riyadh where we had many foreign teachers working from the UK and USA.

Part 2:

Cue Card:

Part 2: Tell me about something you own, which important to you:

– What it is – Why it is important to you – Where you got it from – Is it replacable and valuable in terms of money?

The item or object that I own, which is really important to me is my smartphone. I am sure it's a common answer, but I cannot think of anything else that I use on a daily basis, which helps me so much in my life. My smartphone is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus. It has a stylus and pen to write things on and I got it in the black version. I also got the extra storage at 512GB, which allows me to store almost a 1TB in information with the use of an SD card. This is even more than some laptops.

It's important, because of my hobbies and interests is taking lots of photos - hence why I need a lot of storage. I also love travel, vlog and make videos, so it's crucial to have this type of device. I can edit videos or photos directly using my phone.

I got it from the Samsung website online and it's quite expensive in terms of money - it cost around £1200 pounds. I suppose it's replaceable, as if you back everything up you can restore everything. However, for me it's pretty sentimental in value, priceless and irreplaceable.

Part 3:

Why do people like to talk about the weather?

As I've lived in London for a while - I've learnt that British people absolutely adore talking about the weather. The weather is quite bad here and it's a great way to start a conversation. It can also help you to catch up on what's going on with someone or to strike up a conversation with someone new.

What is the weather like in your country?

The weather in my country - Saudi Arabia is hot all year round. Summers can reach 50 Degrees Celsius and it's hot as hell. That's the expression people like to use in my country. I know it may not sound polite, but there is really no other way to describe it. It's actually unbearable sometimes.

How can weather impact our mood or health?

Weather plays a crucial role in our health, as good levels of vitamin D help our hair, skin, healthy growth of our nails etc. Cold weather can make people more sick or poorly. If the weather is too hot - it's important to drink lots of water.
